Here are some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) that I get. Hopefully this page answers most of your questions.

What are your prices?
Well, let me remind you the first 2 classes are FREE! For a more detailed price listing you can find it here

I’ve never done capoeira before. Can I join the class?
Of course! All the classes in Richmond are mainly beginner and I tailor each class to the level of the student. You can’t be an expert right away. There are building blocks and a base that need to be built first, and you gain that when taking my class.

Do I need to bring anything?
Water and a towel (for the sweat from a good workout). And wear comfortable workout gear. Long pants and a t-shirt are recommended. Other than that, bring yourself in! If it’s your first class, I recommend showing up about 5-10 mins before class starts so that you get an introduction to the facility and to sign a waiver form.

Is there a kids class?
Currently, we do not have a kids capoeira class. However, I have had students as young as 9 and as old as 60 train with me. I have a variety of ages taking my class, and none of them seem to mind any age gap. I currently advertise the class 12 and up, but I’m always flexible to see if your child can fit along with my class. Bring your child, and I can assess if it’s possible for he/she to take the class.

I am under 18, do I need my parent or guardian to sign me up?
Yes. If you are under 18, you need parental consent to sign the waiver form to train at the studio.

What are some benefits in taking capoeira?
A student will gain a source of confidence, self-defense and along with getting an amazing workout, a student will earn a tremendous increase in their strength, conditioning, rhythm, coordination and flexibility. You get all that, while having fun doing it!
